History
For over 60 years Performance Polymer Technologies (PPT) has been a leading provider of custom silicone and rubber manufacturing services to semiconductor, aerospace & defense, medical and numerous other industries. The Company's roots date back to 1949 when Prentiss Cole founded Cole Rubber in a garage in Palo Alto, CA. As the Company grew, so did its need for additional space, so they moved to a larger, modern facility in Sunnyvale, CA. As the Company continued its successful run, it began to garner the attention of several of its larger competitors and in 1970 Cole Rubber was acquired by Furon. For 25 years, the Sunnyvale operation continued its success under Furons' leadership until 1995 when the current owners, Lonnie Wimberly and Ian MacAuley, founded Performance Polymer Technologies and acquired the Sunnyvale operation. As operating costs in the Bay Area continued to climb, and the Company's need for additional space grew, PPT made a strategic decision in 2000 to relocate to a new, larger facility in Roseville, CA.
